Dash was born on February 23, 2000 and is one of 7 males in a litter of Belgian Tervurens. Tervs, as they are called, come in 4 varieties, all stemming from the Belgian sheepdog. The other known breeds are the Malinois, usually fawn in color with a shorter coat, and the Belgian Sheepdog which is solid black with a long coat. Our friend Kathy was the breeder and we saw the litter the day after the pups were delivered. We visited several times each week to look at the pups and try to determine which one was for us. We had it narrowed down to "Dash" but got an opportunity to really observe the pups when Kathy called and asked Laura if she would watch the litter for 3 days while she went out of town. There was no way Laura would turn that down so along with a black lab and a cocker spaniel that she was boarding, we spent three days with 8 dogs in the house. When Kathy came to get the pups 3 days later, we had definitely decided on "Dash" and he stayed with us. We chose him for both his temperament and his coloring. He was 7 1/2 weeks of age and we are watching him grow daily. As you dog people know, a puppy has razor sharp teeth. Our arms and feet have the marks to show that. Here are some pictures so everyone can get an idea of what Dash looks like. We took him to the vet at 8 weeks and he weighed 14 pounds. When full grown he will be about 65 pounds. We will update this page with more pictures as we get them.
